GhostSweeper Rules
Introduction
- GhostSweeper is a GameDuell-developed variant of the classic Windows game Minesweeper.
- The GameDuell difference: Here you're in search of spooky ghosts.
The Board
Object of the Game
- Trap ghosts by uncovering all adjacent tiles.
- Take care to avoid clicking a hidden ghost.
- You have a total of 3 minutes to work your way through three levels.
Surround the Ghosts
- To track down a ghost, click one of the tiles on the board.
- If you click on a ghost during your first turn, then a joker will automatically be used.
- If you click on an empty tile, then it will show you how many ghosts are surrounding it, including those that only touch the cleared tile with a corner.
Logic will Lead to Victory
- You can only figure out where the ghosts are hiding by employing skill and logic.
 |
The colorful numbers tell you how many ghosts are hiding beneath the adjacent tiles. |
 |
The "2" shows you that 2 ghosts can be found beneath the 8 surrounding tiles. |
 |
This "1" is already bordering on a ghost with its top, left corner. Therefore, you can uncover the three tiles below it without any danger. |
 |
The "2" tells you that there are still 2 ghosts hiding in the surrounding tiles. Therefore, it would be quite risky to simply click on any of the surrounding tiles in the picture |
 |
Ghost Counter:
On the right side of the screen, you can see how many ghosts are still hiding on the board. |
 |
Free Fields:
If you click on a tile under which no ghost or number is hiding, then the entire area will be uncovered. |
 |
Surrounded Ghosts:
You can trap the ghosts by uncovering all 8 adjacent tiles. |
 |
Careful: Care must be taken! If you click on a tile containing a ghost, then he will leap from the tile with echoing laughter... and you will lose the game. |
 |
Marking the Tiles:
Position the cursor on the tile that you would like to mark. Press the spacebar on your keyboard. By repeating this process you can remove the marking. |
Levels and Points
- You have a total of 3 minutes to solve all three levels.
- The further along you are, the more ghosts will be hiding on the board.

- If you successfully complete all 3 levels, then you will receive 10 additional bonus points for each remaining second.
Using the Jokers
- If you would like to use a joker because you are unsure as to whether a ghost is hiding beneath a tile, then click on one of the pumpkins on the left side of the screen.
- When you move your mouse over the game board, the area the joker will uncover will be marked. When using the joker, there is no danger of stepping on a ghost.
