GhostSweeper 

GhostSweeper Rules

Introduction

  • GhostSweeper is a GameDuell-developed variant of the classic Windows game Minesweeper.
  • The GameDuell difference: Here you're in search of spooky ghosts.

The Board

GhostSweeper Game board 

Object of the Game

  • Trap ghosts by uncovering all adjacent tiles.
  • Take care to avoid clicking a hidden ghost.
  • You have a total of 3 minutes to work your way through three levels.

Surround the Ghosts

  • To track down a ghost, click one of the tiles on the board.
  • If you click on a ghost during your first turn, then a joker will automatically be used.
  • If you click on an empty tile, then it will show you how many ghosts are surrounding it, including those that only touch the cleared tile with a corner.

Logic will Lead to Victory

  • You can only figure out where the ghosts are hiding by employing skill and logic.
GhostSweeper Colored numbers The colorful numbers tell you how many ghosts are hiding beneath the adjacent tiles.
GhostSweeper two The "2" shows you that 2 ghosts can be found beneath the 8 surrounding tiles.
GhostSweeper one This "1" is already bordering on a ghost with its top, left corner. Therefore, you can uncover the three tiles below it without any danger.
GhostSweeper Adjacent ghosts The "2" tells you that there are still 2 ghosts hiding in the surrounding tiles. Therefore, it would be quite risky to simply click on any of the surrounding tiles in the picture
GhostSweeper Ghost counter Ghost Counter:
On the right side of the screen, you can see how many ghosts are still hiding on the board.
GhostSweeper Free area Free Fields:
If you click on a tile under which no ghost or number is hiding, then the entire area will be uncovered.
GhostSweeper Uncovered ghost Surrounded Ghosts:
You can trap the ghosts by uncovering all 8 adjacent tiles.
GhostSweeper Game lost Careful: Care must be taken! If you click on a tile containing a ghost, then he will leap from the tile with echoing laughter... and you will lose the game.
GhostSweeper Tile marking Marking the Tiles:
Position the cursor on the tile that you would like to mark. Press the spacebar on your keyboard. By repeating this process you can remove the marking.

Levels and Points

  • You have a total of 3 minutes to solve all three levels.
  • The further along you are, the more ghosts will be hiding on the board.

  • Each uncovered number-field will bring you immediate points. The points are calculated as follows: Points = Number x 10. Example: If you uncover a field with a 3, then you will receive 3 x 10 = 30 points.
  • Each uncovered ghost will bring you 20 points.
  • As soon as you complete a level, you will receive 250 joker-bonus points for each joker that you did not use.
  • If you successfully complete all 3 levels, then you will receive 10 additional bonus points for each remaining second.

Using the Jokers

  • If you would like to use a joker because you are unsure as to whether a ghost is hiding beneath a tile, then click on one of the pumpkins on the left side of the screen.
  • When you move your mouse over the game board, the area the joker will uncover will be marked. When using the joker, there is no danger of stepping on a ghost.
  • If there is a ghost within one of the tiles, then you can continue playing. Please note that you will note receive any points for ghosts uncovered using a joker.
  • Once you complete the level you will receive 250 Bonus points for each unused joker.
  • On the right side of the screen, you can see how many jokers you have left in the current level.

Tips & Tricks

  • At the beginning of the game when you have no idea where any ghosts are, it is helpful to start out with a joker.
A successful ghost hunter needs logic, experience and the right feeling for the spooky species. Have fun hunting for ghosts at GameDuell.
